Release day!

The Accidental Courtesan is out today and I'll be heading to B&N to take a peek! I was also fortunate last night to get a preview of my next book cover (June 2012). Very pretty! '

I know for myself that a great cover can draw me to pick up a book first, and the blurb on the back will decide my purchase. I love my Berkley covers and have received favorable comments from readers. That leads to my question of the day:

Does a great cover entice you to pick up a book?

All poster's will be added to the daily drawing, here and on Facebook! Thanks!

  2. Yea, happy release day!!
I love a great cover-it totally makes me pick up the book if it is a new author to me. Pretty dresses, handsome gentleman, strong colors...it needs something to grab your attention and your covers are spot on :)

  3. Thanks Lisa! Berkley has done great covers for me. My editor wanted a Regency feel. I think they captured that. I wish I had both of those dresses!

  4. It most certainly does! An attractive cover is what pulls you in to take a look! I think your first one was stunning! The dresses are beautiful! On both the last book and this one!
Congrats on the new book release!

  5. Posting for Ann Bonvallet: A cover that catches mt eye, makes me want to read the back. Then come the decision.

  7. I do love covers and they catch my eyes but the blurb and maybe an excerpt must be good for me to actually buy the book.

  8. Yes, covers matter. They are the first thing I notice especially if the author is new to me. It's what will entice me to read the blurb but it's the blurb that will decide it for me. Although, if it's an author I have tried before I will go read their backlist even if their cover isn't appealing to me. It's important though that the covers and blurbs are relevant and accurate.

  10. I agree a cover may catch my eye but it is the back synopsis that makes me buy the book.

    Your covers are very attractive!

  11. A nice cover does make me pick up a book, but I've never bought a book based on the cover only.

  12. I don't pay much attention to covers. I usually decide on a book based on recommendations of friends and the blurb/excerpt.
